How to Get People to Read More - Self Evaluation

What role(s) did you take on in the group?

I took all of the photos of the possible locations for the murals. I also took all of the photos regarding the possible journey, focusing on key areas such as the library and bookshops.

I also did all of the photo-manipulation, putting all of the illustrations and quote onto the photographs so they appear to be actually on the walls.

How well do you think you preformed in the role(s)?

I contributed well towards the initial ideas and the concept development.

I believed I performed my roles and the tasks I executed to the best of my ability.

How well do you think you worked as a group?

Everyone contributed well, meaning we produced a large body of high quality work. All the work fitted together correctly due to the communication through the team.

What were the positives of working in a group?

Working in a group meant that we were able to get more work done in a shorter space of time.
Working in a group means we have a greater amount of ideas, as well as being surrounded by critical opinions.
Working in a group also means that there are a greater variety of skills available.

What were the negatives of working in a group?

Communication was not always easy and it was sometimes difficult to get a hold of people.
Splitting work equally amongst the group also proved difficult, especially when trying to give people work that would use their strengths.
Another difficulty with working in a group was the variety of different personal styles and choosing a style to use through the entire group.

What will you do differently next time?

Next time more research into whether the outcome is successful and that the project is working.

More preparation for presenting the project should be done next time to improve the delivery and the clarity of communication.

Where could you have improved your resolution?

We could have contacted the city library, Waterstone’s and other local bookshops, informing them of what we’re doing and whether they would allow us to use their walls for our murals and put our bookmarks and posters in there spaces. This could also be applied to local schools and nurseries.

Actually put the murals, illustrations and characters onto walls instead of just superimposing them onto photographs.

Redesign/use different stock/media to create the bookmark stand so that it functions correctly and stands independently.

We could have created the whole font instead of just the lowercase a-z, so uppercase A-Z and glyphs.

What were the strengths of your presentation?

Equal amount of work

Equal amount of communication

Large body of work

Displayed everyone’s work but did not overload with information, text and research.
