All individual work must be blogged as well as the group presentation.
RESEARCH IS KEY
Presentation should be as professional as possible - should be well planned.
The presentation must be serious - done as professionals.
Tone of voice is crucial.
If the presentation is built on fact an evidence, there will be no issues.
This can be done as an individual trader but this means you will have 4x as much work.
As a professional you need an accountant who knows about the creative industry and your business.
Roles may vary when working in a company.
Expenses accounts are useful.
Deadlines have to be met.
Limited Company
- Registered company
- Have to appoint positions
- Have to report information
- Pay tax as soon as you earn it
As a Freelance designer or in a partnership you are assessed twice a year by Revenue & Customs.
If the company fails they can bankrupt you, this is something than cannot happen with a Limited Company or a LLC Company.
Must be careful setting up partnerships as wealth recover can be piled on you if other have nothing.
(Always take paper to meetings & draw/note make)
Work out how much you need to live & work - break down to an hourly rate.
Business planning is important.
Getting clients can be very difficult - you can buy clients however. (Buy a company with a strong existing client base)
By next week;
Form group - People who you really want to work with.
This is something different to do.
Have questions.
