Message and Delivery: Message - Mailshot Feedback

The feedback on my mailshot was mixed. The message is clear and the overall mailshot has a ‘bold appearance’ and is ‘well laid out’. It is an appropriate outcome, using ‘strong typography’ and colours that are in keeping with the theme. As with the posters the addition of red reinforces and emphasizes the fact he is still alive. The type is ‘clear and concise’ and does not confuse the reader with unnecessary information. My choice to use a different more substantial stock made the documents ‘seem more important’.
The simplicity of the work was slightly criticized, described as being too ‘safe’ and that I could have been more experimental and original with my choice of type and imagery. Possibly illustrating Castro myself.
I agree with the criticism that the work is very simple, almost safe, however, adding anything more would have detracted from the impact and power of the language and imagery.
